Our mission is to promote and advocate for prevention, treatment, care and support for young people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in Kenya.
We seek to catalyze support across a range of actors in the HIV/AIDS sector in Kenya and its environs. Our strategies include:
- Psychological Counselling and Support - We provide on-going psychological Counselling, group therapies and mentorship to our clients and members. We also provide Home Based Care support and referral services; including Counselling & referrals for male circumcision.
- Opportunistic Infections Clinic - We provide medical treatment for opportunistic infections via a twice weekly clinic on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
- Mobilizations, Sensitizations and Outreaches - We promote the design and implementation of approaches aimed at enhancing prevention of STI, HIV and acceptance of one’s HIV status and PLWHA ‘s through use of theater for development and sporting activities.
- Advocacy - Through collaboration with like minded organizations we advocate for gender and PLWHAs friendly policies at local and national levels. We also support MSM members to lead healthier lives and tackle stigma associated with one’s sexual orientation.
- Food Security and Livelihoods - We use sustainable agriculture to enhance food security and livelihoods amongst the members and the community for economic empowerment.
- Partnership and Collaborations - We believe in partnerships at all levels. Whether community based groups, NGOs, FBOs, Government Ministries, the private sector and multilateral agencies. KIPE forges links to ensure our work is appropriate, relevant and sustainable.
- Capacity Strengthening - In order to achieve our objectives, we focus on building the capacities of our implementers in the community to deliver effective, participatory, peer-led HIV prevention, treatment care and support programmes.
